Painting with light
1. In the second photo Joey swung the string of christmas tree lights in a circle and stood in front of it while the picture was captured. The lights created an image looking like a target and the way Joey was facing and where he was standing made his shadow stand out.
2. The camera was set on a shutter speed of 1.5 seconds.
3. The light source we used to create the "painting" was a string of red christmas lights.
4. We achieved the effect by having Joey face the opposite way of the camera and swing the lights in front of him. This made Joey's shadow stand out and as the lights swung in a circle it displayed an imagine of multiple rings with the shadow of Joey's body in front.
5. The photo has a dramatic impact leaving the viewer feeling like they are in the middle of an intense horror scene.

motion
Fast Shutter Speed: (1st row second picture down)
The shutter speed used to take this picture was approximatley 1/30 of a second. In this photograph, I captured the motion of a pom pom being shaken back and forth in the wind. I took it from about a 3 foot distance with the camera facing directly at the pom pom. Compositional elements that are present in the photograph that help strengthen the photo is the rule of thirds and texture.
Slow Shutter Speed: (2nd row 3rd picture down)
This image was taken on my phone I used my dog as the subject. The approximate shutter speed was 1 /3 of a second. The part of the image that shows blur is the back of the dog. The distance taken the photo was about a foot away because my dog was running around me. Elements that help strengthen the photo is contrast and positive and negative space.

Aperture / depth of field
The second picture of the grass is a shallow depth of field. I used the f/22 to capture the picture. I used the manual ISO and the WB was the direct sunlight setting.
The picture of the red old house phone was a large depth of field picture. I used the f/4 to capture the image. I used the manual ISO setting and WB was the florescent setting.
The picture of the grass is better because it is more dramatic and gives the effect of greater detail for the grass closest to the camera. You would want a shallow depth of field to make emphasis on part of an image or create a more dramatic effect. A large depth of field would be a better image when you wanted to show detail and perspective of everything in view.

Reflection
The first photo was taken during the day after it had rained when it wasn't completely bright out yet due to the remaining clouds. The ISO was 400 and the white balance was cloudy .The photo is of my pool in the winter in my backyard, with a tarp over it. The tarp has pools of water collected from the rain and the trees behind my pool are reflecting off the water. The object was not included in the picture only the reflection. The reflection of the trees creates a mysterious image due to the bareness of the trees and the darkness of the day and the rain which makes the photo visually interesting. The texture in the tarp and the pattern of the wood on the porch are used to make this picture a dynamic photo.
